Cippco removed two rooftop cooling towers from the occupied commercial PECO building at 2301 Market, along with the heat exchangers, pumps, duct, piping, motors, inertia pads and support equipment serving them.  All work was completed while the building remained active and its remaining mechanical systems operational.

Site logistics precluded crane removal, requiring all material to be sized and removed through the occupied space. Cippco demolished the towers in place, passing the debris down a roof hatch into the machine room. Collaborating with the abatement contractor Cippco created access to, and coordinate abatement of, asbestos containing transite, gaskets and caulk from the demolished facility and equipment.  The heat exchangers, pumps, and piping were dismantled and reduced to fit through the doors, corridors, and elevators, then loaded out for recycling and disposal.
